I’m learning how to code at Codecademy.com, where you work in a browser at your own pace. I’ve only done the first lesson, working with tags I’m kind of familiar with, but I can see how complicated it all soon gets, and I’m wondering at what point it can become overwhelming. I’m sure it’s like any academic writing that takes practice and commitment. It will have to become a useful activity for it to stick. Mainly, I want at some point to be able to turn the scanned and transcribed letters in my project into digital form, so that’s the long-term goal.
